NWU Self-Directed Learning Series: Volume 3
In this video we will share with you the contents of this new book publication that was devoted to self-directed learning research and its impact on educational practice. We will specifically focus on what self-directed learning entails and why it is vital for survival in the 21st century.
The chapters in the book, although eclectic, are closely linked together around self-directed learning as central theme. This OER will provide an overview of the most important findings from each chapter to guide you when reading this book.
Most importantly it will highlight the different contexts in which self-directed learning can be enhanced and studied. As a viewer of the OER, the video should inspire you to rethink your own context and see how you can promote self-directed learning in that context.
